    • From the Herald, Friday, October 15, 1943: "Sisters Meet Death in Auto Accident Near Vincennes - Mother In Hospital With Spine Injury - Mrs. Amos Leinenbach, 25, of Ireland, and her sister, Miss Lucille Freyberger, 19, of Haysville, were fatally injured and their mother, Mrs. John H. Eisenhut, was seriously hurt, when the car in which they were riding left the highway and turned over around 1 p.m. last Thursday. The accident occured on U.S. Highway 50 and 150, near Fritchton, about seven miles east of Vincennes, as the three were driving to Vincennes. So far as is known, Mrs. Leinenbach, who had been driving an automobile for several years and was known as a slow drive hardly ever exceeding thirty-five miles an hour even before that speed became mandatory on the highways, drove from Ireland on the morning of the accident to the Eisenhut home, a short distance south of Haysville. There she was joined by her mother and her sisters, Lucille, and the three started for Vincennes. Before leaving home her husband instructed his wife to have the tires checked, which she did at a service station. One of the tires was found to be blown out, but it is not known whether the blow-out occurred before or during the accident. Hilda Freyberger Leinenbach and Miss Lucille Freyberger were both born in Daviess county, the daughters of Maddie Huebner Freyberger and the late Grover Freyberger. The family later moved onto a farm near Haysville, and the girls attended the Haysville schools. Mrs. Leinenbach was born on January 5, 1918. On September 22, 1936, she was married to Amos Leinenbach of Ireland, a son of County Surveyor Ben Leinenbach and wife. They have one daughter, Beverly Ann, age six. Surviving besides their mother and step-father, John H. eisenhut, are a brother, John William Freyberger, Carpenter's Mate 2-c, U.S. Navy, who is stationed at Banana River, Fla., two sisters, Mrs. Marie Malley of Hillham and MRs. Charles Marlatt of Dayton, O., and a ste-sister, Mrs. Robert Penny of Baltimore, Md. Funeral services for Mrs. Leinenbach were held from the family home at Ireland Monday morning with services in St. Mary's church at 8 o'clock, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
